Sleep: By Francine Chaderon; French Contemporary Artist

My eyelids are heavy,
They're moist, they're glued.
A dream is surmounting
my tired conscience.
A caress, I need
some fingers through hair.
A kiss on my forehead,
some song from behind.
No questions on right,
no answers for wrong.
Put me to sleep,
Been awake for so long.

Just put me to sleep,
It's time for new dawn.

That dream has no sorrow
and nothing to lose.
Neither friends nor foes
only silence around...
No fears to bother,
No joy to chastise.
My dream has a peace
as pure as sunrise.
My wooden home
has no corners, no end;
Three feet below
and infinitely high
It rests away, Lord
from the world all alone!
Just put me to sleep
Free and Unknown..

Just put me to sleep
It's time for new dawn.

    3. Thank you Rekha. Hope the essence and words reach others via you. And also hope nobody has to write a poem like this. Even if he has to write, he has some fingers through hair to put him to sleep, for a new dawn.

  3. "A caress, I need some fingers through hair.
A kiss on my forehead, some song from behind."

These two lines also have some deeper meaning as I could not get it.

  4. Quite an emotional poem and it has so many layers in it. I love this part which resonates hope and comfort, 'Just put me to sleep,
    It's time for new dawn.'
